Errin and Zach’s modern and beautiful wedding was held in downtown Dallas and was a mixture of classic elegance and contemporary sophistication which truly represented the personalities of the bride and groom. Unique décor, such as a wall of candles, draping, and custom lighting were brought in to soften and enhance the look of the urban venue. 200 of the couple’s friends and family enjoyed acoustic guitar played during the ceremony and the sounds of the DJ during the reception who kept the party going and the guests dancing until we had to shut down the venue! Also popular was the photo booth where guests could have some fun and even write personal messages to Errin and Zach which they then used in the booth. Charming touches such as golf tee place cards and wine bottle centerpieces were reflections of the couple’s favorite hobbies. Though the venue presented challenges moving guests from one area to the next, Significant Events was able to make transitions smoothly and kept the guests comfortable and happy throughout the unforgettable night.

Amanda and Matt’s wedding was the perfect example of the importance of enlisting the expertise of a professional wedding planner. They had chosen their venue first, and it was a new venue which was still developing its property. They quickly became overwhelmed and realized there were many unique challenges with the venue that they didn’t know how to address. Significant Events was hired and immediately went to work. We worked in close conjunction with the venue, the partnering vendors, and the bride and groom to address venue issues pertaining to power, landscaping, maneuverability, loading and unloading, parking, landscaping, and beyond. And, of course, we developed a Rain Plan since both the ceremony and reception were intended to be outside. Indeed, the Rain Plan was activated on the wedding day when cold rain required a last minute change of plans. However, Significant Events ensured that guests never knew that the Rain Plan wasn’t the plan all along!

Amanda was a modern bride with a vintage sensibility. Her vision for her perfect wedding included bright, bold colors juxtaposed next to a wooded ranch setting. We carried this theme throughout every aspect of the wedding and reception, from the caterer’s serving pieces to the cake stand to the centerpieces and beyond. The end result was both beautiful and inspiring. Guests were moved by the touching ceremony, conducted by Matt’s father who is a minister. Afterwards, we moved inside the ranch house for a delicious dinner and dancing that lasted for hours. Matt’s groomsmen, bandmates of his in a Christian rock band aptly named The Wedding, were the life of the party and kept the guests laughing. In the end, we didn’t let a little rain put a damper on the evening. We created an event that was interesting, beautiful, and, above all, personal and significant.

Angelina came to Significant Events with a distinct look and theme for her wedding, and we helped turn that dream into reality. Her chosen ceremony and reception spot provided a few unique challenges, one of which being the short amount of allotted set up time and a large number of vendors arriving all at once for a speedy set-up. However, our meticulous planning resulted in a flawless execution. We transformed the venue through the use of draping and lighting providing distinct spaces for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The ceremony room was changed into a beautiful sanctuary through the use of wall draping, a canopied altar, and amazing floral. Following the ceremony, The moving ceremony conducted by Bishop T.D. Jakes of the famed Potter’s House in Dallas was a mixture of humor and tender emotion. Guests enjoyed passed hors d’ourves and signature pomegranate martinis during the cocktail hour and then entered through more gorgeous draping into the reception space with beautiful views of the Las Colinas canals. Bold colors and elegant linens were on display through the use of pinspotting, and a delicious plated meal was served. A cupcake tower delighted guests and took the place of a traditional wedding cake. Guests enjoyed dancing and fellowship with friends as they helped Angelina and Alexander celebrate their big day.

This fun-loving couple’s wedding and reception were the perfect combination of elegance and fun! The ceremony was held at a beautiful Highland Park church, and Lara included a unique and moving tribute to her deceased father as part of the ceremony. The reception venue provided great views of downtown Dallas. Guests enjoyed hors d’ourves and a delicious seated dinner before dancing began. After the party got rolling, Jeff’s family surprised the guests with a tradition in which a family member dresses up in an alligator costume and a choreographed dance ensues! It was definitely a sight to see but really brought the house down! The evening wrapped up by cutting the elegant and delicious cake before sending off the bride and groom to their future happiness.

Jessica and Ryan were blessed with beautiful weather and a gorgeous setting for their outdoor ceremony. Music from a harpist and the colors of the garden enhanced the romance of the day as the couple tied the knot. Following the ceremony, guests moved to the patio for cocktails and appetizers while enjoying the lakefront views. Jessica, being a dedicated Vegan, wanted to be sure that all of the food honored her dietary requests, so guests enjoyed an all Vegan buffet dinner and Vegan wedding cake! Everything was delicious, and the guests raved about the food! Then, once the dancing began, it didn’t stop for the rest of the evening.

Tanner and Vanessa are a young couple who definitely didn’t want a cookie-cutter wedding! They chose a great urban venue for both ceremony and reception, and we were able to complement the industrial feel of the venue well with touches of elegance and charm. For example, the music chosen for the ceremony was classically performed renditions of modern music. Also, the couple displayed their love of technology by reading their vows off their iPhones, and the guests really got a kick out of it! The black and fuchsia color scheme was striking and a great reflection of the bride’s personality, and we carried this color scheme throughout the entire event with an abundance of pink flowers, pink cocktails served at the bar, and pink fortune cookies and M&M’s as part of the candy buffet which served as party favors.

Michel and Julie’s wedding was held in Julie’s hometown of Forney at her family’s church and it was so special! Julie lost her voice the day of the wedding but that didn’t stop the emotion from flowing between this happy couple.
