2nd Annual Sounds of the Season Gala, benefiting the Dallas Hearing Foundation

Dallas, TX

For the second year in a row, Significant Events was honored to work with the Dallas Hearing Foundation to produce the Sounds of the Season gala. Guests entered the beautiful and historic venue and ascended the stairs lined with poinsettias and floating candles. At the top of the stairs, was a stunning 5 tier cake designed especially for the gala and its winter wonderland theme. A harp ensemble played during cocktail hour as guests enjoyed flavorful passed hors d’ourves and cocktails and got the chance to bid on over 200 Silent Auction items and purchase raffle tickets for the raffle item valued at over $1,000.00. As the main program began, guests entered the sparkling ballroom with tables bedecked in silver and white linens with lush white floral centerpieces. Each table was named after a Dallas Hearing Foundation recipient and contained a picture of the corresponding recipient and his/her story of living with hearing loss. Blue uplighting and snowflakes and stars on the dramatic ceilings awed the crowd. Dinner was thematic as well, with a 3 course wintry yet comforting meal from our five star caterer. Our emcee for the evening, WFAA’s own Cynthia Izaguirre, kicked off the evening’s entertainment which included a beautiful Nutcracker ballet performance from the Texas Ballet Theater and a melodic and witty set of songs from the Grammy award winning Texas Boys’ Choir. The heart of the evening was the presentation from several children living with hearing loss who showed us how their lives had been substantially improved through the work of the Dallas Hearing Foundation. As dinner concluded, guests enjoyed dancing, shopping, and photo favors from our photo station. In the end, over $40,000 was raised for this worthy cause. We can’t wait until next year’s event!

Testimonials

“Meredith, I couldn’t be happier with how the gala went. Most people I talked to, especially those who did not attend last year, were stunned by the size and quality of the event. Cynthia Izaguirre told me that she goes to many galas and this was the best and most personable she has attended. I have heard nothing but positive feedback from everyone. The facility was well decorated and the event well organized. The kids did a great job, and most importantly seemed to have great fun. The silent auction was amazing with regard to the number and quality of items. I can’t think of anything that I would have us do differently. Thanks for all of your hard work and for an excellent job. This was a banner year for DHF, thanks to you.”

“Beautiful experience”
“It was worth the ticket. It is really a good event.”
“Wonderful experience. Enjoyed how the dancers were at eye level and close to audience. Made for a very unique presentation. It was nice that the performances were fairly short. With the cochlear kids performing, the ballet, and the choir, I was concerned that we were in for a very long evening, but it was just right, time-wise.”
“I thought it was all very nice...not sure what would have even been better.”
“Very nicely done. Not too long and very professional.”
“Beautiful. Perfect. Incredible.”
