Simer & Andres’s Sangeet & Wedding

Dallas, TX

Our Punjabi bride Simer and our Mexican groom Andres wanted to have a wedding celebration that fused their two cultures, and that is just what we provided for them. Guests first learned about the wedding with the lovely burgundy and cream laser cut lace invitations designed for them by Significantly Said: Invitations by Significant Events. The first night of the festivities was the Sangeet held at Simer’s parents’ house. Guests arrived to see the house illuminated with decorative pattern projections and colorful draping. Floral chandeliers hung throughout the house and outside under the pergola. Colorful lanterns and floating rose petals accented the pool area as did colorful uplights along the house. A tent was erected in the lawn as well, and we suspended string lights over the turquoise tables below with gold chairs and colorful florals. Guests enjoyed an Indian buffet dinner followed by dancing to their favorite South Asian tunes. The following day brought the wedding ceremony and reception which were held at a modern art museum in downtown Dallas. Simer carried the most beautiful bouquet of burgundies, peaches, blushes, and greens. Bridesmaids carried a similar bouquet which looked perfect with their wine colored gowns. The ceremony was held in the sculpture garden during sunset as a string quartet played a mixture of classical and Indian songs. Simer & Andres’s altar was surrounded by a lush and beautiful floral arch. Guests moved onto the terrace following the ceremony which was decorated with taupe linens, wood chiavari chairs, and floral centerpieces of burgundies, golds, blushes, and greens. Dinner was a delicious buffet of Indian, Mexican, and western entrees that everyone loved. Guests then moved inside where the ballroom was set up for a dance party with decorative lighting and lounge furniture. The gorgeous wedding cake with floral and painted gold accents was displayed beneath the floral arch from the ceremony. Our DJ kept the dance floor packed with a mix of South Asian, Latin, and Western music, and a Dhol player accompanied the guests at times too for extra fun. A late night snack of churros & Mexican coffee and Kulfi & chai was served, which guests loved. Simer & Andres departed the reception under a cloud of flutterfetti into a classic Rolls Royce.

Our photographer was so kind and personable. He integrates into your wedding day perfectly. It can be awkward to have someone suddenly taking pictures of you, but he made myself, my bridal party and my guests always feel at ease…..
My hair & makeup artist did amazing work, and I could not have been happier with my hair and makeup. I was worried that my makeup wouldn’t look natural, but she hit the nail on the head making me glamorous while still looking like myself….. The décor and floral for the Sangeet was better than I imagined in ever way. They transformed my mother’s and my ideas into a piece of Indian wonderland right at our home in Texas…. The lighting elevated the look of the event to be truly special. They made us custom pieces that fit the look of the event and added a cultural nod to the night…. The Sangeet DJ had people dancing all night. Brought an amazing energy…. Our officiant made our ceremony warm, intimate, and the perfect amount of lighthearted humor. Had tears threatening to stream down our face the whole night….Our ceremony musicians added the romantic tone to our ceremony exactly as I imagined….The catering was exceptional. For an Indian wedding, it was a non-traditional menu, but the guests all were raving about the food! Also, the custom desserts were amazing and such a personal touch for our guests…. The wedding floral exceeded my expectations. They were so fun to work with when coming up with ideas. Their enthusiasm for their work showed in meeting them and in the final look. I found myself admiring the floral the whole night…. The look of our custom cake was like a piece of art in the museum. Also tasted beyond delicious!!.... Our wedding DJ was incredibly easy to work with. His personality and obvious knowledge of multiple genres of music (pop, Latin, Punjabi) made everyone feel like dancing and smiling all night… The getaway car was the perfect ending to our night. The driver was professional and kind….I never knew making invitations could be so fun! Significantly Said set the tone for the wedding and gave us exactly what we wanted….Meredith, the only time I felt truly stressed was before choosing you! I loved all the vendors you recommended and I felt I could trust your opinion when I asked questions about them. I think it shows how much you get to know us as a couple to the point where you knew what I wanted better than I did. The weekend went like a dream from my perspective. Even though we did a rain plan it felt perfectly planned and exceeded my expectations of the day nonetheless. It felt like there were 10 of you cloned to make sure Andres and I never needed anything. Per my family and guests, any issue was handled immediately as well preventing any problems. For Andres and I, that was amazing because our priority was our guests enjoying themselves. We cannot begin to thank you enough. I would not have changed a single thing, and you gave me my dream come true. Thank you, and you are part of the family now!
