A Wedding for All Seasons, An Evening with Sasha Souza

For the September 2010 Bi-Monthly Education Program of the Dallas chapter of the International Special Events Society, Significant Events coordinated and designed an evening to welcome and pay tribute to our keynote speaker, noted wedding designer Sasha Souza and her new book Signature Sasha: Magnificent Weddings by Design. Using quotes from Sasha’s book as inspiration, we branded the entire event with the help of graphic design firm Orange Spot Pink Nose with quotes from the book pertaining to lighting, menu, floral, cake, etc. The concept of “a wedding for all seasons” held true as guests entered the beautiful Hilton Anatole foyer to see 4 beautiful wedding dresses from White Gown Showroom representing the four different seasons being modeled by “brides” from Triple Play Staffing with make-up artistry from Elan Make-Up Studio. After relaxing on lounge furniture from Cort Event Rentals and having a few cocktails and hors d’ourves, guests entered the stunning Wedgwood Ballroom and were in awe of the dramatic floral arrangements from Out of the Garden which also represented the four seasons and were complemented by color wash lighting and pinspotting from Beyond as well as linens and tabletop items from Ducky-Bob’s Event Specialists. Also, front and center upon entering the room, was a majestic showpiece cake from Frosted Art. After a delicious four course dinner, our emcee Glenn Roush introduced Sasha who delighted guests with pictures of her work and shared her own best practices to inspire all of the wedding professionals in the room to push themselves to new design heights! Indeed, part of the evening’s entertainment was a Design Board competition, where local wedding designers could showcase and compete against each other by displaying the best of their wedding design, and Sasha acted as a judge.

Czars of Vinyl Launch Party

To unveil the high tech arm of their audio-visual-DJ-performance company, Czars of Vinyl hired Significant Events to create and promote a launch party. We created a Royal Russian Revolution which perfectly complemented the style and branding of the company and provided them with public relations, marketing, and social networking services to entice guests to attend. Indeed, over 300 party goers enjoyed listening to and viewing Czars’ original music and video mash-ups, as we transformed a hip event space into an underground nightclub. Waitresses in sexy Russian costumes served Czartinis and other vodka cocktails. Blinis, caviar, and vodka soaked fruit were passed for guests to munch on all night. Chic lounge furniture and custom centerpieces were brought in, and the hot Gogo dancers in their cages all functioned as eye-popping décor. Cool lighting and video effects were installed as well as custom draping to create a dramatic entrance and exit to the club. As guests departed, they received a copy of Czars’ original mixes to take home with them. It was a blast that kept everyone talking!
